Character Creation: the basics. Empty Character Creation: the basics.

    Game info: The Tiered System

The game essentially operates off of a tiered system.

A Tier is essentially a level of skill. In Twilight Rising: The inferno, there are roughly three tiers of skill. (Novice) (Adept) and (Master). In order to gain the next Tier, you must not only possess the one below it, but pay a "fee" of CP. This process is referred to as Upgrading

Experience points are used for upgrading, and are awarded at the end of each chapter. Any unused portion always goes in "Experience" by default

    Summary & Non-specific World Rules

    Character Creation – The Summary

The system is designed so that a character has several categories of "abilities". (see below)

    Attributes (your basic stats)
    Race (&Origin/Nationality/Ethnicity)
Languages (Spoken) (spoken tongues your character knows)
Languages (Written) (written tongues your character knows)
Skills (skills of what your character knows and what your character can do)
Weapon Mastery (Weapons your character can use (well))
Armor Proficiency(Armor your character can wear)
Signature Attack/Ability (Attacks unique to this character)
Essence Pool/(Essence Points) (This fuels/allows your abilities. Maximum of 15 at character creation)
Currency (the amount of cash your character has on hand)
    Equipment (your character's inventory!)

Naturally, this varies from world to world, place to place, but it gives a good general idea.

*Everything bar Race(though exceptions may exist since some races are stronger than others), Equipment and Currency(and likewise, some coin is stronger than others)
**You may only ever have one ‘Unique’ attack/technique and you may never change it. In addition, it is yours alone and no one else may possess it while you draw breath.

    Attributes

Your key, primary stats. There are eight attributes and they are ranked on a scale of 1 to 25. The ratings are as follows:

    8 is below Average
    10 is Average
    15 is above Average
    18 is Genius
    25 is Superhuman*

    * Mortals are capped at 20

Now, the attributes are as follows:

Strength (Gee, if I have to explain this...)
    Dexterity Your speed, agility, etc)
    Resilience (Your Constitution)
Intelligence (Somewhat obvious, but your ability to learn, retain knowledge)
Judgment (Your ability to make decisions, Wisdom.)
    Cunning(Cleverness and resourcefulness)
Perception (Strength of your senses and ability to notice things)
Charisma (your "charisma," physical beauty, and willpower)
Spirit(Your “magic”, “supernatural”, “innate energy” stat; the ability to control and resist it
Luck (How lucky you are - increases the chance at succeeding at impossible odds)

Each character starts with a single point in every statistic before any Character Points are assigned. However, a character may never attain more than ‘3’ in any stat at creation. He may increase his stats later through upgrades, but three is the absolute maximum he may ever have at creation.

    Race (Origin/Ethnicity/Nationality)

The unique aspect of Twilight Rising: the Inferno is that it allows enough openings for new races. I have provided descriptions of the races who have had to adapt-- however honestly, there are simply TOO MANY playable races in Forgotten Realms DnD for me to go into every last one. The Core races are pretty much grouped in with their cousins. For that reason, if you wish to play a character from one of the non-core playable races, please petition me with a write up. This write up must describe their society, favored climates, spiritual beliefs, general nature, and a good description of what effect the Merging of universes had on them as a people.

If you wish to play a Hybrid or Ancient of any race ( aside from Half elf or Half Orc) please contact me for the go ahead and explain their ancestry thoroughly in your sheet.

    Skill and Weapon/Armor Mastery
    As a rough guide:
    A Novice is 1 in 10
An Expert is 1 in 100
    --------Capped at Creation--------
    A Master is 1 in 1000
    ------------DM PERMISSION ------------
    A High Master is 1 in 10, 000
A Grand Master is 1 in 100, 000 (there are perhaps five or six of these in the entire world)
